Following our previous announcement regarding the closure of the lottery it has been brought to our attention by the Council’s Licensing Case Officer that the lottery is run primarily for the benefit of the club and therefore upon closure of the lottery the funds must be, primarily, used for the benefit of the club.

The final draw was held at the club on Saturday 10 October at BRFC and, once again, there was no winner. The winning numbers were 01-11-13-24

Over the life of the Lottery, kindly run by Sheena Hare, it has raised, including the Prize Pot that was never won, over £5,000. The Committee have decided that the funds will be used to pay for the upgrade work completed this Summer on the Ladies toilets. This was a substantial project involving installation of water tanks in spare roof space in conjunction with water pump incorporation.

The Committee has also decided to donate £100 to each of the local Charities aforementioned in the original Lottery closure notification. Those Charities being :

– Everything Ellie – to provide days out for poorly children at the seaside

– Care for Kids – to help provide towards travel and overnight stays for parents

– Clarity – providing mental Health counselling

– North Devon Hospice – providing end of life/palliative care

– British Lung Foundation – providing research for lung disease

Once again, the Committee would like to thank Sheena Hare and everyone who has supported us and helped to raise much needed funds for our wonderful club; specifically the Corner House, Portmore Golf Park and the Rolle Quay Inn. We can’t begin to tell you how much your support has been appreciated.
